Richard W. Riley
Richard W. Riley, former secretary of education and former governor of South Carolina, is a leader and advocate for improving education. Time magazine named him as one of the top 10 Cabinet members in the 20th Century. Riley currently serves in leadership capacities in the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the KnowledgeWorks Foundation, the Riley Institute at Furman University, and the ACT Board. He is a senior partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where he counsels clients on business, governance, and financial matters. He started his involvement in education improvement as a PTA co-president and state legislator.
