Ralph R. Smith

Ralph R. Smith is senior vice president of the Annie E. Casey Foundation. He also serves as managing director for the Campaign for Grade Level Reading, a national effort to increase rates of third-grade reading proficiency. Previously, he sat on the faculty of the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania and also held a number of senior leadership positions for the School District of Philadelphia, including chief of staff and special counsel.. He has served on a number of boards, including forLeap Frog Enterprises, Inc.; Nobel Learning Communities, Inc.; Venture Philanthropy Partners; and the Center for Responsible Lending.
